Today I’ve stumbled upon a time machine!

Surely now you’re thinking I’ve gone mad (“Well, J., not having every minute of your day organised like it used to be for the past few years is not doing you any good, you’d better find a full-time occupation now”). The truth is, if you look closely enough, you’ll notice things around you documenting the past that remind you of how different life used to be. A-ha! Got what I mean now?:)

I’ve found one about adverts, focusing on two things that I love: language and society norms, and namely – how they’ve changed during the last few decades. What seemed completely normal back then, now sounds odd, ridiculous, disgusting, or even shocking.

Why phone boxes can be entertaining

Find one difference. Is this some kind of psychology experiment you are conducting, Pizza Hut?

These two phone boxes must be the most interesting place in town when it comes to ads. And not because they are extraordinary in any way but because there is TWO of them, so you can observe pretty intriguing advertising patterns there. And it seems that food chains like this town centre location as well.

First, a few weeks ago while waiting for my bus, I noticed the above two posters from Pizza Hut. A few days ago, I  saw a new set of ads, this time from two competitors:

Looks like they are neck and neck in the competition to win over customers.
